Byrynyn
The Elven Empire
To the west and across the sea from Karridran lies the vast Elven Empire. A small continent surrounded by several archipelagos, Byrynyn is ruled by the great Empress [Elvish Name]. These elves are notably different in their languages, cultures, and appearance from the native elves of Karridran, although still unmistakably elvish; humans or dwarves with no exposure to Karridrani elves might have difficulty distinguishing an elf born to one of the many different Empire tribes from their own homeland’s folk.
Relations between Karridran and Byrynyn have always been tense, but immigration and trade is conducted between the two superpowers of the world in times of peace. This trade unfortunately necessitates seafaring merchants to take great pains in order to avoid the treacherous shores of Deridia… for the Forbidden Continent is smack dab in the middle of the sea that separates Karridran and the Empire. (This does have one silver lining; war between the two is often avoided solely because the risk involved in sending ships out so near to Deridia outweighs the incentive to attack.)
